Vanessa Chantal Paradis (born December 22, 1972) is a French singer, model and actress. She became a child star at 14 with the worldwide success of her single "Joe le taxi". Since then, she has accomplished a career in music, movies and modelling.
"Be My Baby" was the first single from Paradis' eponymous third studio album and was released in September 1992. It was the singer's first single in English-language and was written by her companion at the time, Lenny Kravitz. It achieved great success in many countries, becoming a top ten hit in France, UK and Germany.
