Eric Lee Martin (born 10 October 1960, Long Island, New York) is an American rock singer/musician active throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s both as a solo artist and as a member of various bands. He earned his most prominent success as the frontman for the hard rock/glam metal band Mr. Big.
"To Be with You" appears on the album Lean into It. The song charted in 20 plus countries, many of them at number one, such as on the United States Billboard Hot 100. It also reached a peak of number three in the UK. The song is about a man who has his eye on a woman who has recently experienced a broken heart from a previous relationship. The song was written and composed by Martin during his teen years.
