Matt Johnson (born 15 August 1961 in East London, UK) is a musician best known as the founder and only constant member of the group The The.
This is the day is featured in The The's second album Soul Mining, which was released in 1983. This song was being played during the last scene/closing credits of the movie Empire Records, but strange enough, was not included in the soundtrack. Soul Mining is part of my music collection, because it's got two of my favorite The The songs, the other one being "Uncertain Smile".
